Cocaine Anonymous, a group dedicated to the sobriety of its members, will be hosting a convention this weekend to assist participants in living drug-free lives.
The five-day convention began Thursday and is being held at the Marriott Hotel, located at 220 S. State. The group will be hosting speakers, workshops and events that are geared toward assisting people live drug-free one day at a time as members work to spread a message of hope, faith and courage that there is an end to addiction.
Cocaine Anonymous is a group composed of individuals who have experienced addiction and are committed to ending their use of cocaine or other mind-altering substances. The group uses the Twelve Steps of Recovery process to sobriety that is also used by other programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous.
The event is free and open to the public.
