TULSA, Okla. — Southern Utah's Nick Freitas garnered first-team all-conference honors and teammates Keli'i Zablan, Chester Wilson and Bucky Aona earned second-team kudos as The Summit League all-conference baseball teams were announced on Wednesday night.

The Thunderbirds tied South Dakota State with the second-most honors in the league, second only to Oral Roberts with 12.

Freitas finished the regular season leading The Summit League in home runs (15) and stolen bases (32) to pick up first-team honors in his first year in the conference.

Zablan led the T-Birds from the plate during the year with a .396 batting average and a .431 batting average during the conference season.

Wilson was second on the team with a .337 average from the plate and a .396 on-base percentage for his second consecutive postseason honor.

Aona was recognized as a designated hitter, batting .335 during the regular season for the third-best average on the team. Aona led the team with 13 doubles during the season.

Southern Utah will continue its season when the Thunderbirds play the Western Illinois in the first round of The Summit League baseball tournament.
