LOGAN — A man threw a butcher knife at a Logan police officer after being hit with a non-lethal round of bean bags.

Logan Police Chief Russ Roper says officers used a stun gun to subdue Robert Ricks, 46. Ricks was arrested for investigation of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

It started Tuesday when a neighbor reported Ricks was walking around outside with a large kitchen knife in hand. Police say Ricks refused to drop the knife, so they fired rounds of bean bags at him.

Ricks responded by tossing the knife at an officer. He missed.
