WEST JORDAN — A 15-year-old girl was stabbed in the stomach during a fight with two other middle-school students Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 3:30 p.m., the girl met two 13-year-old girls at a park near 6700 West and 8600 South to discuss "some problems," said West Jordan Police Sgt. Greg Butler.

A fight broke out and one of the 13-year-old girls allegedly stabbed the 15-year-old in the stomach, Butler said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. Her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Butler said.

Police had one of the 13-year-old girls in custody following the stabbing.
