A 54-year-old Salt Lake man shot in the head underwent surgery Monday night as police searched for the man's brother-in-law in connection with the shooting.
Around 8 p.m., police found the victim inside his home near 250 South and 1100 West, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Isaac Atencio. A bullet had apparently passed through the man's hand and into his head.
"They're not sure what the prognosis is going to be," Atencio said.
Officials aren't sure what led to the shooting. Police said the man lived at the home with his wife and brother-in-law, the man they suspect is responsible for the shooting.
A gun was located inside the home, though police were not sure if it was the weapon used in the shooting.
