PROVO — A Provo man was arrested late Friday night for investigation of felony theft after a monthlong investigation, according to a police report.

In mid-April a man was caught on surveillance video stealing two ladders and a garbage can from a car wash located near 900 S. State in Provo.

The video provided a good look at the man and his vehicle but was not clear enough to get a license plate number.

The police report said an officer on routine patrol located a vehicle he believed was used in the theft. After running the plates it showed who the owner was and he appeared to be the same man in the video.

A for-sale sign in the vehicle gave the officer the man's phone number. According to the police report the 32-year-old man admitted to taking the ladders and garbage can.

The man is scheduled for an initial appearance on May 27 in 4th District Court.
