PROVO — MountainStar Blood Services, provider of blood products for eight Utah hospitals and the U.S. military, wants to remind Utahns this Memorial Day that they can be a "living memorial" to military heroes, both living and dead, by giving blood.

The Wasatch Front's blood supply needs to be constantly replenished. There is a need for 2,500 pints of blood each month to meet minimum needs. Only 3 to 5 percent of those eligible to give blood do so.

The donor center at 152 W. 1230 North, Provo, is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — except Memorial Day. Several area mobile drives will also be held. For convenient times and locations, call 877-452-5663.
