An Ogden woman and two of four children riding in her car died early Friday morning after a traffic accident in Colorado. Investigators suspect drowsy driving may have been a factor.

State trooper Gilbert Mares said Maria O. Ruiz, 26, was wearing her seatbelt when the Dodge Neon she was driving drifted off the road, struck two posts and then a vehicle on Interstate 25 at around 5:40 a.m.

The Pueblo County Coroner pronounced Ruiz dead at the scene, along with Juan M. Garcia, 8, and Joshua I. Garcia, 7, who along with the other two children were all wearing seatbelts, Mares said in an email. Skyler E. Ruiz, 8 months, and Adali S. Garcia, 3, were transported to a hospital both with serious injuries.

The other vehicle involved rolled on to its top, but the driver only sustained "moderate" injuries, Mares said.
