In response to "Singers are not heroes" (Readers' Forum, May 15): Nobody has ever claimed that David Archuleta, or anyone else from "American Idol," is a hero. Archuleta is simply an extraordinarily gifted young man who is sharing his talent with the world. For many people, David Archuleta represents a bright light in a dark world, as he inspires them to carry on. He has succeeded displayed a great amount of personal integrity and humility. Are these not characteristics to be admired and applauded?
