Wasatch Elementary School, 30 R St., will hold its annual Arts Showcase Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The event, which features a silent auction of special class projects and artworks donated by community artists, raises money to continue unique arts programming at the school. Admission is free.

This year's theme is "The Nature of Art in Our Backyard."

The Wasatch Fine Arts Program, which costs approximately $100 per student per year and includes drama, music, dance and the visual arts, is funded entirely by donations. The money goes to employ artists-in residence, purchase supplies and train teachers.
