Would you like to run a mile in memory of a soldier who died in Iraq? A man named Jon Bellona has organized a run to cover 4,000 miles, each mile dedicated to an American service member who has been killed.

Bellona's best friend and college roommate, Michael Cleary, was killed in Iraq in December, 2005, 10 days before his tour of duty was scheduled to end and two months before his wedding was to be held.

Bellona has gathered a group of friends who will be leaving a spot called Painted Rocks, near Fort Irwin Training Center in California on Father's Day weekend. Their destination is Arlington Cemetery. They'll be passing through Utah from June 30 to July 2.

There is no cost to run a mile. E-mail contactrunforthefallen.org to volunteer.
