Helen O. Mitchell"Together Again"Helen O. Mitchell passed away in Orem, Utah on February 5, 2012.Helen was born August 10, 1928 in Vernal, Utah, to Otto Norman Olsen and Mabel Augusta Hansen. She grew up in Vernal until she was 11, and then lived in Salt Lake City until her family relocated to Hollywood, California in 1941. She graduated from Hollywood High School in 1946. Helen married Lawrence R. Mitchell in the Manti Temple on September 7, 1949. Over the next 15 years, they had five sons and a daughter. Helen was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and remained an active member all of her life. She held many callings over the years, serving in Primary, Sunday School, Young Women's Mutual Improvement Association (now called Young Women), and the Relief Society. She also served a full time genealogical mission with her husband Larry.Helen is survived by her sisters Marva Johnson and Elaine Huber, her brother Raphael Olsen, her children Kenneth (Shelly), Stephen (Janet), Jeffrey (Sharanne), Glen (Stephanie), Ruth (Brent) Hope, and Ronald (Wendy), thirty-one grandchildren, and twenty-two great grandchildren.Helen was preceded in death by her husband Larry; her parents; her sisters Virginia Johnson, Lois Dunn, and Norma Edwards; and her brothers Lowell Olsen and Charles Olsen.Funeral services will be held at the Lindon 19th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 731 East Center, Lindon, Utah on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held Friday, February 10, 2012, at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A second viewing will be held immediately prior to the funeral service, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Lindon City Cemetery.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com
