SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The West Coast Conference announced Wednesday that BYU senior center Kristen Riley has been named the WCC Player of the Month for January.

Riley, a 6-foot-3 co-captain from San Clemente, Calif., was the leading scorer in six of the Cougars' nine contests played during the month and was the leading rebounder in five, tying in one. Her performances helped guide the Cougars to an 8-1 WCC record, a nine-game win streak and their No. 22 ranking in the AP Poll entering the week of Jan. 30. During the month of January, BYU played seven of its 10 league games on the road.

Riley also picked up three double-doubles during the month while putting up double digits in points in six games and grabbing double digit rebounds in four. Riley ended the month with a total of 133 points, 75 rebounds, 24 assists, 13 blocks and 11 steals.
