Freddie Ann Maasberg1920 ~ 2012Freddie Ann Maasberg, 92, passed away on February 2, 2012 in Sandy, Utah. She was born on January 5, 1920 in Stockton, California to Fred Raymond and Alice Hazel Fiese Leavens. Freddie Ann married Bill A. Maasberg on October 15, 1938 in Stockton, California. She was a longtime resident of Sonora, California. Freddie Ann and her husband were pivotal supporters responsible for the preservation of California Highway 49 as a historic highway, "The Golden Chain". She introduced herself as "Grandma" to everyone she met and was dearly loved by all and known as "the sweetest" women they ever met. In Sandy, Utah, grandma was the "one-woman" lending library and loved lunching with friends. She was an avid reader, fabulous cook and devoted solitaire player!
