Sandra Lee MasonMarch 14, 1943 ~ Jan. 31, 2012Our beloved mother, sister and dear friend, Sandra Lee Mason, 68, left this earth as gracefully as she lived, on Tuesday, January 31 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.Born March 14, 1943, Sandy was an adventurous and compassionate seeker and explorer driven by a restless, creative and abundant life force. She was a loving mother and friend, wise and caring mentor, and expansive travel companion. She traveled the world over, met and made friends everywhere, and particularly loved her lilacs in springtime, her dear pet, Henry, and anything that contributed to the development of children or the arts. We are blessed to have experienced the energy of her wisdom and joie de vivre. When she knew the time to pass was near, Sandy chose to leave in her own distinct style, and on her own terms. In the last months, she received family and friends from far and wide, organized her own care schedule, and served champagne, all the while eating carrot cake and dispensing wisdom and treasures. She particularly loved sharing the essence of the Prayer of St. Francis, which she kept on her mirror for years. With her life complete, and just an hour before she passed, she put a scarf around her neck so she would be ready to "go home." During her journey, she inspired and touched many, spreading angel dust for the world and those she loved.Sandy has given her body to BODY WORLDS, the original anatomical exhibition series displaying authentic human and animal bodies. Presented like an art show, Sandy hopes one day to be displayed with the elephants. As we know and love her, she did it her way, right to the end and beyond. She is survived by her two grateful sons, Larry and Joe Andreini, three beautiful grandchildren, Mason, Ava and Amanda Andreini, her sister, Carol Johnson, nieces Becky Dowsett and Lori Hand, and more friends than anyone can count. A celebration of her life will take place on her birthday, March 14, 2012, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
