John Loran Hiatt1939 ~ 2012SALT LAKE CITY, UTJohn L. Hiatt passed away of pancreatic cancer on 31 January 2012, at the age of 72.He was born 5 October 1939 to Loran and Ruth (Sullivan) Hiatt in St. George, UT.He attended Dixie College. He started his dancing career in St. George under the direction of Mr. Reynolds. He received a scholarship to the University of Utah where he was a member of the band and became a lead dancer in Utah Civic Ballet which later became known as Ballet West.He loved being involved and coaching his son's sports activities. He renovated and ran apartments, was a realtor and worked for AT&T. He started the "Hiatt Dance Boots" company and became renowned for his high quality leather boots made for ballet companies around the world.John married Halene Brinton on 28 October 1961. He had two sons, Jeffrey and Anthony and grandson Graeson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Halene, his eldest son, Jeffrey, and his parents. He is survived by his son Anthony, his grandson Graeson, his brother Blaine (Donna) Hiatt, of Bountiful, UT, his sisters, Ruth Ann (Duane) Holsten, of Richland, WA, Evelyn (Jerry-deceased) Bosh, of Mona, UT, Cathleen (Gary) Neff, of Sandy, UT. and close friend D.
