Kay Lewis Hair1925 ~ 2012Kay Lewis Hair, 86, returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on February 1, 2012 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on May 30, 1925 to John William and Doris Jane Lewis Hair in Francis, Summit County, Utah. He grew up on a dairy farm in Marion Utah where he learned the art of working hard.He served his country in the Army Air Force with the Occupation Forces in Japan at the end of World War II. He served a full-time LDS mission in the North Central States Mission. After his mission, he returned to work at the family farm. During this time he went to BYU to further his education. There he met the love of his life, Kathleen Joyce Burnett, a native of Australia. They were a match made in heaven and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept 25, 1953. They continued living and working on the family farm. Later they moved to Salt Lake where dad continued his education. He worked hard and provided a wonderful life for his family. Dad was a hard worker, and an example to us all, and loyal to those he worked for and served. They had and raised ten children in their home. Dad loved children and was delighted with every child and grandchild. He was one of the most honest and honorable men and loved his family with all his heart. He will be greatly missed by us all for you could not be in his presence and not know he loved you. He taught us gospel truths and to love and serve others. He helped us be the best we could be.He loved the Savior and strived to be like Him in all areas of his life. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings always with much faithfulness. Dad and Mom served 12 years as ordinance workers in the Jordan River Temple and then a service mission running the dry pack cannery in Sandy. He has left us rich heritage as he lived as he believed. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, his eternal sweetheart, Joyce Burnett Hair.
