Nils Emil LingwallApr. 26, 1922 ~ Jan. 27, 2012Nils Emil Lingwall, aged 89, passed away on the January 27, 2012 at home.Born April 26, 1922, to Sigurd Axel Lingwall and Nilsine Olsen, in Salt Lake City. The youngest of six children always adventurous, winning a freckle contest as a youngster, joining a traveling band as a teenager, and then joining the Army National Guard in the spring of 1941. He was a courageous solider, receiving two bronze stars while serving four years in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war he returned to Salt Lake, marrying the love of his life, Beverly Jean White. Always a hard worker, Nils had a successful and long, fifty year career with Newspaper Agency Corporation as a pressman. Nils was active in his local community serving as a scout leader, in his ward's bishopric, and spent many years as a High Priest instructor. He is survived by his wife Beverly, his children, Susan (Lee), Nils (Beth), Patricia, and Amy (Reid), 15 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and daughter Emilee. He loved his family, home, religion, and country. Nils was a strong and faithful man, an amazing solider and an even better son, brother, father and grandfather. He will always be in our hearts and by our side. We will miss him dearly and cherish our memories of him always.Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 12 noon at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening, February 1, 2012 at Larkin Sunset Lawn, from 6 until 8 p.m. and from 11 am 11:45 a.m. on Thursday prior to services.
