Robert William PainterJan. 27, 1920 ~ Jan. 24, 2012Robert William Painter, age 91, died on January 24, 2012 at his home in Murray, Utah, of causes incident to age. Born to Charles Painter and Amy Patterson Painter in Oakley, Wyoming on January 27, 1920. He moved to Salt Lake City as a teenager. He graduated from Granite High School. University of Utah High Honors Graduate, Utah CPA Gold Key as outstanding Business School Graduate. National Scholarship to Harvard University Business School. Masters Graduate in Industrial Business Administration from Harvard University. PHD program at Stanford University Business School. Career in Consulting, Accounting, and Management for many private, commercial, United States Government, and U.S. Military establishments in the United States and in many areas around the world. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Married Gloria Francis Sherman in the Salt Lake Temple, mother of his six children, later divorced. Married Beverly Joy Stewart (Lott) on October 20, 1984 in the Jordan River Temple. He was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many Stake and Ward positions including Branch President in Frankfurt, Germany. Served in the Salt Lake Temple 5 years and in the Jordan River Temple from April 1983 to 2011.Survivors include: wife, Joy. Two sons: Leslie (Nida Painter, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Steven (Monica Painter, Payson, Utah. Three daughters: Lynne (Tim Meadows, Dawn (Barry) Sutton, Sherry (John) Njord, all of Salt Lake City, Utah. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren, former wife, Gloria. Joy's 5 children: Linda (Doug) Hymas, Stewart (Cherie) Lott, Beverly (Kliff) Bramwell, Lorraine (Tim) May, David Lott.Preceded in death by parents, son; Michael, brothers: Wendall and Lowell, sisters; Ellen, Thelma, and Mable. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012, at 12 noon, at the Murray 25th Ward Chapel, 363 East Vine Street, Murray. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, and one hour prior to services on Monday. Interment will be in the Mt.
