Hilda M. Zeisler"Oma"Our beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, Hilda M. Zeisler, age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on January 25, 2012, in Salt Lake City, Utah after a long illness. Born April 29, 1933 in Wesermuende (Lehe) Bremerhaven, Germany to Rudolf Kueckens and Margarethe Kreutzman. She became a member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints on May 22, 1948 and married Ulrich E. Zeisler, on November 18, 1950. They immigrated to the United States with their three small children in October 1954. On November 19, 1956 their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple and they have been happily married for 61 years. Hilda supported Ulli while he was serving in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 26 years. She, herself, was a member for five years. Oma was a caring and loving person, always there to be of assistance when there was a need both in and out of the home. She taught her family by example and always expressed her love for her Savior. Throughout her life, she served faithfully in many ward callings, including eleven years with her husband as a Church Service Missionary in the Finance/Records department. Her favorite calling though, was working in the Salt Lake Temple Youth Center, which she did for many years, until her health declined. She had a very special gift with children, especially babies. She loved doing mesh needle work, gathering the family together for special occasions - especially Christmas, traveling the world with her husband - especially to places relating to the Savior. Oma will always be remembered for her affection for the Savior, Jesus Christ, and the compassionate service she generously gave to others. Oma will be missed, but her testimony will be in our hearts until we meet again. Liebe Oma, wir lieben Dich and sehen Dich wieder. We wish to express a special thank you to the family Doctor, Dr. Cope and One Step Forward Hospice. The family would especially like to thank Erica Dixon RN and Crystal Gautam CNA. They were so loving and caring for the needs of our dear mother and father during these past months. Hilda is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ulrich; daughter Gisela Slaugh (Gene deceased), Salt Lake City; sons Erich (Susan) West Jordan, and Wolfgang (Jill), Bountiful; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rose Park 1st Ward, 1152 West 800 North. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E.
