Ernest "Ernie" Carlyle Hale1918 ~ 2012OGDENErnie Hale returned to his loving Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. He was born on July 11, 1918, to Ernest Grant and Josephine Kelsey Hale in Kannarvillle, Utah. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and happily served in many callings. He served in WWII as First Lieutenant in the Coast Artillery Corps. He worked and retired from the US Postal Service. He married Alice Chaus in 1942, later divorced. Ernie married Mabel Combe in 1964, later sealed. In 1969, Ernie and Mabel served a mission in Sacramento, California. She passed away in 2001. He married Roma Richardson in 2004.Ernie enjoyed serving others, doing genealogy, and travelling to new places. He stayed in close contact with family by visiting and assisting them regularly. He is survived by his wife, Roma; daughters, Kathleen (Jack Erwin) North; Jeanene (Gregory Allen) Parker; and Carolyn Terrell; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Stephen Lynn; sisters, Elaine Match and Gwendolyn Kimball and a large extended family.Ernie was preceded in death by wives, Alice and Mabel; grandson, Jordan Erwin North; parents; brothers, Orren Elmo, Desmond Kelsey, Grant LeRoy, Douglas Alma, and Afton Bruce; and sisters, Josephine Bronson and Carol Cavarzan.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Sullivan Hollow 2nd Ward, 976 33rd St (corner of Jackson). Friends may visit family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Services entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
