Reva Miller Quilter Rasmussen1927 ~ 2012Reva Miller Quilter Rasmussen, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend, passed away on 24 January 2012, in the American Fork Hospital at the age of 84. She was born May 24, 1927, in Tropic, Utah. She was the daughter of Allen S. Miller, and Elizabeth Pollock. She married her high school sweetheart, Alvin Powell Quilter, on 26 Dec., 1944. Their marriage was solemnized in the Saint George Temple, 18 Jan 1947. They made their home in Tropic, Utah. She married Mark Harris Rasmussen, 6 July 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived for many years in Orem, Utah, before moving to BelAire Assisted Living, in American Fork, Utah. Reva had a beautiful soprano voice she shared often. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, she served as chorister in several auxiliaries, counselor in the MIA Presidency, and was faithful in searching for life histories for her ancestors. Reva loved and excelled at knitting and crocheting, and was a square dancer. She later became a true "rock-hound", learning to cut, facet, silversmith, and create beautiful opal jewelry, winning many awards for her work. She also designed hundreds of semi-precious gem trees that she sold and gave for gifts. She belonged to the Timpanogos Rock Club for many years, and traveled around the country displaying her work with her husband Mark. Together, they belonged to square dance clubs.She is survived by large blended family including six sons and four daughters. They are: Sherrie (Larry) Williams, Ross A (Joan) Quilter, Kerri (Eric) Hundley, Ray M. Rasmussen, Sondra (LaMar) Mills, Shirlene (Ted) Hindmarsh, Don A. Rasmussen, Edward H. (Diane) Rasmussen, Kent G. Rasmussen, and Dale M. Rasmussen, 46 grandchildren, 96 great-grandchildren, and 11 gg-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 15 brothers and sisters, her husbands Alvin and Mark, son Tony M. Quilter, and a grandson, Sean Quilter.There will be a viewing at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 So. State Street, Orem, Utah, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral to follow at 11:00, on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
