Helen Hirschi Stone1916 ~ 2012Helen Hirschi Stone, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (96 years old), passed away peacefully on January 21, 2012 of natural causes. She was born on January 27, 1916 in Montpelier, Idaho to Marianna Seiler and William Hirschi. She was the oldest of seven children. After serving an LDS mission in the Eastern States Mission (New York 1937 1939). She married Carlos W. Stone on January 26, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She is the mother of three children: C. William Stone (Helen), Neil Hirschi Stone (Ellen), and Christine Stone Pattee (Brad), grandmother of ten grandchildren: David, Kimberly, Julie, Holly, Amy, Lindsay, Jacob, Tres, Alicia, Bradley and great-grandmother to twenty-two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Carlos, son Neil and grandson Bradley. Helen was very talented, played the piano, sang in several choirs with her beautiful singing voice and was the lead in the Montpelier High School operetta. She was also a member of the Montpelier High School National Honor Society for scholarship, leadership, service and character. She graduated from Montpelier High School and the LDS Seminary in 1933. Helen was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and singing in quartets with her husband. Between caring for her family and her church callings, she also worked with her husband in forming a successful business, The Carlos W. Stone Company with offices in Denver, CO. and Salt Lake City, UT. Helen always had a special way of making everyone she met feel special and loved. She was very generous and enjoyed helping others. Helen valued education and provided each grandchild an opportunity to earn a college degree. She was a member of her Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints and held administrative and teaching positions in Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society.Viewing (12:30 PM) and funeral (2:00 PM) will be Saturday January 28, 2012.
