Donald C. Beutler1925 ~ 2012Donald Carl Beutler passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City, UT on January 20, 2012 from complications of pneumonia. He was born Sept. 15, 1925 in Richfield, UT to Glen William and Dot Marie Nielson Beutler. After graduating he joined the US Navy serving honorably during WWII stationed on Iwo Jima and Nagasaki, Japan. Returning home, he met and married the love of his life, LaDonna Peterson on July 21, 1947 in the Manti LDS Temple. They moved to Salt Lake City to raise their family and enjoyed 59 years together. Don was a letter carrier for the US Post Office, and ran his own water softener business, where he was known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and personal integrity. He served in many church callings including ward clerk and stake athletic director. Don excelled at sports, playing baseball, softball, and golf. He formed many friendships being a member of "HUG" Happy Utah Golfers. Don made family his priority, organizing trips and hosting parties, picnics, and holiday celebrations.He is survived by his son Larry, daughter Wendy Holmes (John), grandchildren Brady Beutler, Emily Newell (Chris), Sarah, Stephen, and Daniel Holmes, and great-grandchildren James and Kylie Newell. Preceded in death by his parents and his wife LaDonna.The family wishes to thank the staff at Kolob Care Center in St. George and the Utah State Veterans Nursing Home in Salt Lake City for their loving care.Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT.
