Joni Milne Souverein1963 ~ 2012Our beloved daughter, wife and mother, Joni Souverein passed away peacefully Monday evening, January l6, 2012 in the loving arms of her husband Art and son Erik. She fought valiantly for six weeks in an intensive care unit to overcome a fast moving cancer. She was born July 22, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the third of four children born to Janice and Dick Milne. She attended East High School and the University of Utah. Joni was a much loved and popular person wherever she went. Her love for her family and friends was always foremost in her life. She loved to laugh and to be involved in everything and with everyone around her. She was in the Pep Club, Seminary, choir and a song leader at East High when the "leopards" won the State Basketball championship in 1981. Her father was the basketball coach. She was also sophomore Christmas queen and Homecoming royalty attendant in 1980. She married the love of her life, Arthur Souverein, June l, 1991. They moved to Parker, Colorado where they raised their son Erik; whom she lovingly referred to as her "greatest achievement." Joni loved the outdoors, sunshine, rain and the ocean. She was a kind and sensitive person. Joni is survived by her parents Janice and Dick Milne; her husband Arthur Souverein and son Erik; her sister and brothers: Kathy Smith (Robert, deceased), Douglas (Susan) and David (Aud). Also survived by Grandmother Grace Simkins, aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held in the LDS chapel, 20850 East Main Street, Parker, Colorado.
