Karma Kofoed Edson1921 ~ 2012Karma Kofoed Edson, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, completed her earthly mission and passed peacefully away on January 19, 2012, of causes incident to age. Karma was born in Brigham City, Utah, on February 4, 1921, to Otto Augustus Kofoed and Caroline Annie Lund Kofoed. She loved growing up in Brigham City with her sister Elaine (Donaldson) and brothers Ralph and Dallas, all who have preceded her in death. In her childhood home, she learned the values that gave her the foundation of caring, goodness and faith that carried her throughout her life. Karma married Earl Judd Edson in the Salt Lake Temple on December 22, 1939. Following Earl's graduation from dental school, they resided in North Hollywood, California, where they raised their four children: Stephen (Eileen), Ralph (Sandra), Charlotte (Patrick) Price and Arlene (Grant) Snow. After retirement, Karma and Earl moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Devoted to each other throughout their lives, they enjoyed 61 years together until Earl's passing in November 2000. A woman of devotion to her family and faith, Karma created a home based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Her life was a reflection of those teachings as she served her family and friends with love and compassion. A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in numerous church callings, particularly enjoying Relief Society, Mutual and attending the Temple. Karma brightened every occasion. She was always cheerful, fun, witty, generous, kind and grateful. She loved to cook and sew. Being a wife, mother and a homemaker brought her great joy and fulfillment. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family, playing games and cards (especially Bridge) and traveling. She took great interest and pleasure in the lives and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves a legacy that will live eternally in her family and friends.Karma is survived by her children, grandchildren (Geoff, Randy, Richelle, Christy, Michael, Timothy, Sarah, Kimberly, David, Richard, and Lindsay) and 26 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Cottonwood Creek Ward, 1250 E. Murray Holladay Rd. (4800 S.) Salt Lake City. Friends may call Monday, January 23, from 6 to 8 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, and Tuesday at 10:30 at the ward prior to the services.
