NaDene Ray Carver1926 ~ 2012NaDene Ray Carver, 85, passed away January 13, 2012. She was born June 19, 1926 in Layton, Utah to Raymond and Mattie Green Ray. NaDene graduated from Davis High School, Weber College, and BYU with bachelor degrees in Music and Education. While working summers at Del Monte she met Kay Baird Carver and they were sealed in the Manti Temple on August 15, 1950. They lived in Texas, Idaho Falls, Colorado Springs, and Utah. She taught elementary school for 32 years; 30 at Roosevelt Elementary as a third and fifth grade teacher. NaDene also worked part-time at ZCMI for several years. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church where she served in many callings in Primary, Relief Society and as Ward Chorister. She enjoyed serving in the Ogden Temple. NaDene loved her family and could be found at all their activities and games. She was also an avid sports fan. NaDene is survived by her seven children: Gary Ray Carver (Heather), Kaylene C. Broadbent (David), David Ray Carver (Linda), DeAnn C. Thorpe (Thomas), LeAnn C. Heslop, Marsha C. Roberts (Curtis), Mark Ray Carver (Mary) and three sisters Adele Koziar, Joye Ray, and Annette Gardner. She has 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. NaDene was preceded in death by her husband Kay Baird Carver, her parents, and her brother Evans G. Ray. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Burch Creek Stake Center, 4955 Adams Ave, South Ogden. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden and from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center on Friday.In lieu of flowers, please donate to the LDS General Temple Patron Assistance Fund.
