Edward Maurice Blotter1933 ~ 2012Edward Maurice Blotter age 78 passed from this life on January 13th surrounded by his loving family. Maurice was born February 27, 1933 in Smithfield Utah to Edward Blotter and Lucille Phillips. He spent most of his time growing up in Smithfield UT, Franklin ID. and Ogden UT. Graduated from Ogden High school. Enlisted in the U S Air force during the Korean conflict. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints in Finland where he met the love of his life. Married Leona Popp on September 17, 1959 in the Logan UT temple. He graduated with Honors from BYU earning a Master's Degree in Accounting. Maurice and Leona moved to Bountiful and raised two beautiful daughters: Eliisa Grandstaff (Ron), Anitta Simpson; 5 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren, with two more on the way, all who survive him.Dad had many talents he enjoyed photography, serving others, but is greatest passion was his rose garden which he won many awards for. He was a member of the Utah rose society and served in several positions. Dad also enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren at the BYU football and basketball games and the many trips he took them on. His great sense of humor will be missed. Active in the LDS church and served in many positions including working at the Bountiful temple as an ordinance worker for 6 years and most currently as Stake Financial Clerk. He is also survived by a brother Ed Collins (Linda); and a sister, Elaine Daines. Preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Collins and father, Edward Blotter.The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital for their compassion and care during this time. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Stone Creek LDS Chapel, 1475 North 300 West, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Wednesday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
