Glen Arthur Bryan1937 ~ 2012Glen Arthur Bryan, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away at age 74 on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 with his family surrounding him. Born to Arthur William Bryan & Hollean Margaret Spray in Tooele, Utah on April 23, 1937, he was the second of four children. Glen played football, was lead in several musicals and played coronet in the band. He served an LDS mission to the Central States from 1957 1959. He attended Brigham Young University & the University of Utah. As an active singer needing an accompanist, he met Elsie Ann Cook and discovered they made beautiful music together. They married for eternity on April 12, 1963 in the Manti Temple. To them were born four children, Julie, Connie, Glenna & Steven. Glen was a hard worker. He lived by the rule that "no job is worth doing unless you do it right" which is what his father taught him by example and word. He worked in the insurance industry. He worked for Utah Home Fire for several decades. He also owned his own insurance agency, Granger-Hunter Insurance, which he founded in 1969. Glen shared his testimony of Jesus Christ at every opportunity and served in the LDS church in many capacities. Among his callings were: Ward Clerk, Executive Secretary, Bishopric Counselor, Stake High Councilor, Ward Mission Leader, Ordinance Worker at the Jordan River Temple, and Church Service Missionary at the Magna Bishop's Storehouse. Glen had a sharp mind, an intelligent vocabulary and always had a way of making everyone feel good. He always gave generously to Friends of Scouting. Preceded in death by his sister Gayle & parents. Survived by his wife; brother, Donald; sister, RaNae (Gibson); children: Julie Young (Jay), Connie Colvin (David), Glenna Smith (Jeffrey), and Steven. Grandfather of 12 and Great-grandfather of 2 and a half. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan North 6th, 4100 S. Bangerter, West Valley City, UT. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Valley View Mortuary, 4335 W. 4100 S., and again on Monday morning at the church from 9:30 am to 10:45 am prior to the service.
