SALT LAKE CITY— Aaron Moulton will join the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art as senior curator of exhibitions, effective Jan. 16.
Moulton obtained his degree in curatorial studies from the Royal College of Art in London. He was editor of Flash Art International in Milan and for the past five years has been based in Berlin, where he founded the exhibition space FEINKOST at the former location of the Berlin Wall. In addition to curating exhibitions throughout Europe, Moulton has written for art magazines and authored monographic catalogs for artists such as Christian Jankowski, Kirstine Roepstorff and Arcangelo Sassolino. He is currently co-editor for the exhibitions quarterly AGMA, a journal dedicated to offering visual reviews of exhibitions happening throughout the world.
"We conducted a worldwide search to fill this position and were incredibly fortunate to find Aaron," Adam Price, executive director of the museum, said in a news release. Moulton will create original exhibitions, conceive and implement contemporary programming outside UMOCA's four walls, and oversee the day-to-day operations of the museum's curatorial department.
