Ralph Hermann Neumann1939 ~ 2012Ralph Hermann Neumann passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 after a valiant fight with cancer. Born on February 18, 1939 to Hermann Neumann and Elsa Feil Neumann, Ralph was raised in a loving family and always spoke of his childhood with great love and fondness. He attended West High School and Salt Lake Community College. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for three years. At 23, he chose to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was assigned to the West Germany Mission. His faithful service in Germany would define a life of work and service. After his mission, he then met and married his sweetheart, Linda Angell, in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised their family in Salt Lake City and the Pleasanton, CA area, and were blessed with three children, Patrick, Heidi, and Tanya. Linda returned to heaven on February 17, 1999. After a period of mourning, Ralph rejoiced to wed a new sweetheart, Sharon E. Gygi Nielsen, in the Jordan River Temple. Happily married, Ralph and Sharon have enjoyed 12 wonderful years together. In spite of his growing illness, Ralph continued to enjoy his favorite sports and hobbies. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, and kindness, and a devotion to his children and grandchildren.Predeceased by his parents, dear first wife, and step-daughter Marianne Nielsen Blanchard. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sharon; children: Patrick and Jennifer, Heidi Fisher and children (Brandon, Spencer, and Chloe), and Tanya (and son Rylen); and children by marriage: Cris and Noralee Nielsen Peterson and family (Robert and Emily Peterson Liddle and daughter Alice; Heather, Megan, Rachel), Christine Nielsen, Karen Nielsen, Brad and Jill Blanchard and family (Merlin, Bradley, Arthur, Glenn, Kristine), David and Taryn Nielsen and family (Spencer, Aubrey), Jennifer Nielsen, Shad and Wendy Nielsen Barney (and son Jaxon), and Trent and Daiane Nielsen and family (Alexis, Thomas Ralph). Also survived by his brothers, Dick and Patricia Neumann, Dennis and Penny Neumann, Marvin Neumann and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.A viewing will be held on Friday evening, January 13 from 6:00 8:00 pm at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S Redwood Road, Salt Lake City UT 84123. Funeral Services and a viewing will be held on Saturday, January 14 at South Jordan Parkway Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9900 South 2700 West, South Jordan UT. The funeral will begin at 11:00 am, preceded by a viewing from 9:30 10:30 am. Interment at Redwood Memorial.Well done thou good and faithful servant. Till we meet again.
