Jose Benjamin Jaramillo1924 ~ 2012On January 9, 2012 Jose Benjamin Jaramillo (Ben) hung up his hat and put his boots away on this earth for the last time. He was met by several loved ones for a celebration of his birth to a new life. He was born on January 10, 1924 to Cesario and Irene Jaramillo in Canjilon, NM. He was a proud citizen of the United States of America and proudly served this country during World War II. Later Ben met and married Gloria Ann Peck, the divine love of his life. They had six children, Kathy, Juanita, Julie, Josephine, Douglas, and Richard Jaramillo. Ben was an adventurous man and lived his life that way. He was a sheep herder, herded cows, loved life, fished the creeks, hunted (not always legally), and traveled untold miles with the companionship of his horse and dog. While Ben was not a religious man, he was a spiritual man and would often say "If you want to find God, Go to the mountains." Ben found God every day in the beauty of nature, he was a true cowboy. Ben experienced beauty in his life the unconditional love with his wife Gloria whom he always spoke highly of; being an exemplary teacher, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and son and friend. He befriended several people throughout his life as he reached out to others in service and love. Ben was a strong willed free individual who deeply loved and valued his family and we will always have that special place in our hearts as we celebrate his life through our daily lives. He is survived by his wife Gloria, their six children, 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, a brother and sister, along with many nieces and nephews and friends.A Celebration of the life of Jose (Ben) Jaramillo will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at La Puente Restaurant, 7301 South 900 East, Midvale, UT;
