Ruth Roghaar PetersonDec. 21, 1918~Jan. 7, 2012Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Jan. 7, 2012.Ruth was born on Dec. 21, 1918 to Martin Ezra and Ida Johanna Sorenson in Central, Idaho.She married her sweetheart, John A. Roghaar on June 8, 1939 in the Logan Temple. John passed away on March 7, 1986. They have four daughters, Linda (Kay) Johanson, Bonnie (Fred) Anderson, Carol (Lorin) Astin, Vicki (Brian) Neilson. Ruth later married Keith Peterson, who passed away Dec. 2008. Her life was spent in constant service always reaching out to help others whenever she could. Ruth was a great example to all she came in contact with.She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she faithfully served in many capacities. Ruth and John served in the Netherlands, Amsterdam Mission as Mission Presidents. She served with Keith in the Salt Lake Temple Square mission. She loved the Temple and served as a devoted worker in the Jordan River Temple for 18 years.Ruth was preceded in death by John, Keith, her parents, sister Alta, and brother Arlo. She is survived by her daughters, three sisters, (June, Fern, and Alene), 19 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren.Viewing will be held, Thur. Jan. 12, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 So., and one hour prior to Funeral service at the ward. Funeral services will be held Fri. Jan. 13, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Little Cottonwood 16th Ward, 6350 Rodeo Lane (about 1540 E.)Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive S.L.C.
