TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Hundreds of fans greeted the Alabama football team as the Crimson Tide arrived home to a rainy Tuscaloosa.

Fans holding red-and-white shakers and umbrellas stood in a steady rain Tuesday, screaming "Roll Tide" and cheering as players and coaches got off a charter jet at the city's airport.

A pilot held a Bama flag out a cockpit window as the plane rolled to a stop. Coach Nick Saban walked to a fence to greet fans.

The team boarded white charter buses emblazoned with the words "national champion" for the ride to campus.

The university is making plans for a celebration to mark the team's second national championship in three years.
