Oteria Wootton Bagley"Teri"Oteria "Teri" Wootton (Bement) Bagley, 79 of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away surrounded by her family on January 8, 2012. Teri was born September 5, 1932 in Jacksonville, Florida. Her parents were Eldwin Edward Wootton and Exie Gurganious Wootton. Her father was a career Navy officer thus she moved several times early in her life. She grew up primarily in Florida and New Orleans where she graduated from high school in 1948. After high school she moved to Washington D.C. where she was on the secretarial staff of J. Edgar Hoover of the FBI. In 1951 she met a handsome young soldier from Utah at a church dance.Teri married Kenneth Allen Bement in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in June 1952 and they had six children. Following a divorce she married John W. Bagley, Jr. in 1982. John passed away in 2009.Teri was an employee of the Bell system for over 30 years, first with Mountain Bell then with AT&T. Early in her career she was a telephone operator in Salt Lake City. After the breakup of the Bell system, she was employed by AT&T both in Salt Lake City and Denver where she was a communications technician. She retired from AT&T in 1990.Teri touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, maintaining a great sense of humor to the very end. She loved jewelry, shopping, dining out, and collecting owls to decorate her house.Teri is survived by four children, Kenneth E. Bement (Joy), Cherise Bement Lucero (Joe), Rory Bement (Rebecca), Steven Bement (Janet), daughter-in-law Alissa Blake, 13 grandchildren and 26 great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John, sons Brent and David and grandson Joseph.At her request a family graveside service will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah (17100 South Redwood Road).
