Rena Bonecher Berrett Baker"Always Thinking of Others"1916 ~ 2012Our amazing and wonderful mother and grandmother died January 7, 2012 of natural causes. She was born 96 years ago in West Weber, Utah, on January 13, 1916, the eldest daughter of Peter and Fortuna Bonecher. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Emery Berrett, and husband Max Baker and grandson Morgan Slater. Also preceding her were her three sisters and their husbands who she was very close to.Her life was filled with generosity and giving to others. Thinking of others was her creed. Even to the end she had a great sense of humor which attracted others to her.She attended school in West Weber and then moved to Riverton at age 13 and graduated from Jordan High School. She was a leader in the community and helped start the first 4th of July celebration in Riverton. She was the founder of Berretts Blossoms; she loved plants, gardening and flowers. Rena was an avid Jazz fan.She is survived by three children, Estelle and Bill Slater, Larry and Robyn Berrett and Dave and Joan Berrett, 10 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by brother and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.Funeral mass will be held on her birthday, January 13, 2012 at 11 am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 7405 South 1700 West, West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held from 6-7 pm, January 12, 2012, at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton, Utah. This will be followed by a vigil and rosary at 7 pm. There will also be a viewing one hour prior to the service at St. Joseph Church.Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.www.broomheadfuneralhome.com
