Alfred R. Lenk1930 ~ 2012Alfred R. Lenk, Age 81, our loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away suddenly January 3rd, 2012. He was born June 8, 1930 in Salt Lake City to Erich A. and Else L. Lenk. Al grew up in Salt Lake City and attended Granite High School and the University of Utah. He was in the Air Force National Guard during the Korean War. He worked as an outside industrial sales representative for Bennett Glass and Paint which later became Devoe Paint for over forty five years. He married Fannie Darlene Maylett on November 15, 1952.Al was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he loved wood working and building things. His building accomplishments included our home that he built and still lived in, and our family mountain cabin in Brighton, Utah. Al was an avid outdoorsman and loved to snow ski, hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grand children. He will be missed by all those whose life he touched.Alfred is survived by children Deborah and Jeffrey (and Esther), grandchildren Eric (and Helen), Scott (and Lindsay) and Elise, and great grandchildren Kayleigh and Preston. Alfred was preceded in death by wife Fannie D. Lenk, parents Erich A. and Else L. Lenk, and grandson Alex R. Lenk. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11am at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Family and friends may call Saturday one hour prior to the service.
