I realize I am not the sharpest "political knowledge" pencil in the box, but it seems the process of primary elections is quite unfair. How is it that certain states have the power to restrict my choices for president before I ever get a chance to vote?

Why is there no national primary election for national offices such as president? Over the next few months, the choices offered to me for a Republican presidential candidate will be cut at least in half by the votes of four or five states. Something seems wrong with that.
