Helga Schroeder Wells1945 ~ 2011Our beautiful wife and mother returned to be with her Savior and was welcomed into the arms of loved ones the evening of December 29, 2011. She was surrounded by family near and far. She was born in Bad Schwalbach, Germany to Georg Jakob Schroeder and Annemarie Haug and was raised in Buehl, Germany on the edge of the Black Forest where she loved laughing and playing with childhood friends, creating puppet shows, getting straight A's (and an Associate's degree in business), and tending to her little garden. She cherished a lifelong bond with her dearest and most true friend Ursula. She was the only LDS teenager in a city of 50,000. This strengthened who she was and manifested itself in all aspects of her life and as she bravely endured to the end. She left her home in Germany to make a beautiful home in America for her family. She enjoyed sketching, painting, crocheting, knitting, cooking and singing; every evening at bedtime she sang lullabies to her children whom she cherished. She loved her husband most dearly. They were a great team. She was proud of him and the accomplishments they achieved together. She willingly hand typed and retyped and retyped the dissertation for his Ph.D. She loved the church and gospel of her Savior Jesus Christ. She lived her life giving to others and sharing her endless ability to love. She showed compassion and kindness and was always willing to give. She was a great example to all of us.She was preceded in death by a grandson Alex Arviso. She is survived by her husband Maurice, daughters Tanja Akiyama (Kris), Noel Wells (Kenny), sons Stefan (Rachelle), Michael Begay (Carol), brother Kurt, Sister Irene, nieces, nephews and eleven grandchildren. Special thanks to friends and staff at Sandy Health and Rehab. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 3 from 7-9 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South.
