Gene A. PeadenBeloved Husband & FatherGene Alton Peaden passed away on December 29, 2011 in Murray, Utah. He was born on March 23, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charlie Nello Peaden and Bertha Mae Brock. He had one brother Richard Peaden (Joyce). Some of his early years were spent in North Carolina where he later returned when he was called to serve for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central Atlantic States Mission. After his mission he was called to serve his country in the Korean War. When he returned he met the love of his life, Emma Jean Larsen. They were married September 17, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Logan, where Gene attended and graduated from Utah State University. There they had 3 of their five children, Paul, David and Lynda. His career led him to Salt Lake City. They established their home in Murray, Utah. They had two more daughters, Karen and Susan. He has led a full life of compassionate service to his family, church and community. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Peaden. Survived by his beloved wife Emma Jean and their five children Paul (Julie), David (Janet), Lynda (Larry), Karen (Lewis), and Susan (Erik) their 25 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law (Joyce) and her children (Calvin, Brian, Carolyn).Special thanks to Intermountain Homecare, Holly and the nurses and all others who gave of their time and loving care.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Park Ward, 495 E. 5600 So., where a viewing will be held 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Interment Elysian Burial Gardens.
