TOLEDO, Ohio — The incoming chief executive of the nation's third-biggest amusement park chain has spent most of his career making people smile and laugh.

Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. named former Disney Matthew Ouimet (WEE'-meht) its president this summer and now he's taking over as CEO of the Ohio-based company.

Ouimet spent 17 years managing Walt Disney Co.'s resorts, theme parks and cruise line.

He says wants to make Cedar Fair's parks in the Midwest and along both coasts places where families can have fun together.

That means adding more rides everyone can enjoy and using technology to better connect with guests. And he says there might be a few surprises added along the way.

Cedar Fair has 17 amusement and water parks, including Cedar Point and Kings Island in Ohio.
