Betty Gene Cotterell Swan-Scott"Will Be Missed"Betty Gene Cotterell Swan-Scott passed away on Dec 8th 2011 surrounded by family. Betty was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mary Ethel Howell Cotterell and Charles Jefferson Cotterell. She graduated from South High School, LDS Business College and attended the University of Utah. Betty married William Albert Swan-Scott on Sept 15, 1947 in Salt Lake City. They were married for 46 years before he passed away. Betty worked for 35 years with New York Stock Exchange Member Firms in Salt Lake City. Betty loved to read and watch movies. She became fond of Sean Connery and bought his movies to listen to his wonderful voice day after day. She also became known to us as "Betty Boop"Betty is survived by her sisters, Virginia C. Watts (California) and Charletta C. Bell (California), a son William Michael Scott (Vicki) Salt Lake City, seven grandchildren. Betty was survied and loved by many nieces and nephews, also, her friend and a niece Elizabeth Sloan (Jim), Kim (Gorgeous Dennis) Holt, a nephew, Richard S. Nemelka, and a 3 year old great-great-grand nephew Dante who she thoroughly enjoyed. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Gayle C. Nemelka, Beth Cotterell, Beverly Cotterell, her husband William and her darling daughter Margaret Patricia "Meg" Scott.Upon Betty's request there were no funeral services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
