Webb Daniel EvansDec 29, 1933 ~ Dec. 26, 2011Webb Daniel Evans, age 77, died in his sleep on December 26th, 2011 at his home in Globe, Arizona after a pleasant Christmas celebration with his wife Jerry and his son Lance. He had been in declining health from heart disease and diabetes.Webb was born on December 29, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the third child of Charles Daniel Evans and Sylvia Price. After graduating from South High School in Salt Lake City, Webb attended West Point Academy in New York and then served a mission for the L.D.S. church in West Germany. When he returned he enrolled at the University of Utah where he majored in food service administration and nutrition. He graduated in 1962. While at the U. of U. he met Jerry Elizabeth Browning and married her on September 18, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple.His professional life began as an administrative dietician in Staten Island, N Y, in New Orleans, LA, and at the L.D.S. and Primary Children's Hospitals in Salt Lake City. Wanting to engage in more personal and creative aspects in his field, he formed his own organization called Food Services by Webb, ran his own restaurant at Garden City, UT, and was President of the Utah Beehive Chefs Association. Inducted into the American Academy of Chefs in Washington D.C. in l992, he taught at the Culinary Institute in Portland, worked at the Nevada Crossing in Wendover, NV, and ended his career as the Food and Beverage Director at the Casino Arizona in Globe.He is survived by his wife of 52 years Jerry Browning Evans, his sister Kathleen Evans Reese, his seven children Lisa Turville (Robert), Leslie Tomek (Dave), Lane Evans, Lyle Evans (Dawn), Lynnette Larson (Trent), Lori Evans, and Lance Evans, 18 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 30th, 2011, at 12 noon in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 E.
