Barbara Elaine Elggren Williams1937 ~ 2011Surrounded by her family, Barbara Elaine Elggren Williams passed away peacefully in her home in Sandy, the morning of December 25, 2011, after a short battle with cancer. She was 74 years old. She was born July 26, 1937 to John Elmer Elggren and Elaine Woolley Elggren, the 2nd of 6 children. She attended the local schools of Salt Lake and Centerville until she graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Speech Therapy. She was married to the love of her life Garry LeRoy Williams, September 18, 1959, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have seven children. Despite her illness, Barbara remained active and aware of everything and everyone in her life until the day she quietly passed through the veil and into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, and her loving family members and friends who were waiting to greet her back home. She is survived by her husband, Garry LeRoy Williams and five children, Traci Buchei (Danny), David Williams (Jill), Lisa Edwards (Wally), Jodi Brewer (Paul) and Jason Williams (Mandy). In addition to her loving children, Barbara enjoyed the love and affection of 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Rushforth, and three brothers, John Jr. Elggren, Mark Elggren, and Robert Elggren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two of her daughters, Shannon Williams Paxman and Cristell Williams. Barbara is a very loving and caring spouse and mother. Her family has always come first in her life. She is always there if any one ever needs her. She spent much of her life caring for her husband, children and her grandchildren. Her smile and witty sense of humor always brightened any room she entered. Her family spends their time adoring her and being grateful that she is their mother. Barbara was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved being in the temple with her sweet husband and working in the temple for ten years. She later served with her husband as missionaries for the Church in Portland, Oregon. She served in many callings within her church, including Relief Society President in two different wards and Primary President in two different wards. One of these was the biggest Primary in the Church at the time. She was always there to serve in any way she was needed. Barbara lived a life of service and had an unshakable faith and love in her Heavenly Father and her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved all that was good in this world. Some of Barbara's favorite pastimes were puzzles. Puzzles of any kind, book puzzles or picture puzzles. She especially enjoyed doing puzzles with her grandchildren. She loved to go to the theater, on walks with her husband, watch BYU devotionals, go to different athletic events of her grandchildren, visit temples around the country, and reading.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Crescent Park 6th LDS Chapel, 10885 S. Pampas Way (8th E.) in Sandy, Utah. Friends may call Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 6-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 West South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 S.) and from 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to the services on Friday. Interment will follow at the Centerville City Cemetery. Online condolences:
