Anje (Anny) Hut Apking1915 ~ 2011Beloved Mom, Oma, Tante, and loyal friend was called home December 19, 2011 by Heavenly Father to spend Christmas with her Sweetheart.She was born to Jan Hut and Aaltje Niekamp Hut on March 20, 1915 in Coevorden Netherlands on a merchant ship owned by her father. She married John C Apking on May 8, 1940. Together they survived the war and moved their young family to Utah to seek a better life. She loved to learn and taught herself English by watching soap operas. She took pride in becoming a US citizen, but never let go of her Dutch heritage. She treasured her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her greatest joy was family and friendships. To know her was to love her!She is survived by her children Jeanne Cook (Jack, deceased), John (Laura) Apking, Robert (Emily Apking deceased), nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by many who anxiously awaited her arrival. In cluding her dear husband who passed away April 14, 1990.Funeral services will be held Thursday December 22, 2011 at the Poplar Grove Ward 1401 W. 700 S. SLC, UT at 11:00 am.Friends may call Wednesday December 21, 2011 at Larkin Mortuary 260 E. South Temple Salt Lake City, UT from 6-8 pm and 9:30-10:45 am at the church.Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery
