Recently at the Utah Symphony an older teenager came to his seat just next to mine. He plopped into the seat, put both tennis-shoed feet on top of the seat in front until a guest needed the seat. For most of the next two hours, he was lighting up the area texting.
In contrast, in comes an older lady with her two grandsons, probably 10 and 12, and they sat right in front of me. They were perfect little gentlemen, attentive for the entire production. The performance with Cirque De La Symphony was superb. The conductor brought out the finest from the orchestra, and the circus people were the best. Too bad the teenager missed so much.
