Steven Eugene Thomas1944 ~ 2011Steven Eugene Thomas passed away suddenly of heart failure on December, 18 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He will be missed by many. Steve was born on June 10, 1944 to Blaine and Evon Petersen Thomas. He was raised in Salt Lake and attended West High School. Shortly after graduating, he joined the United States Army. Upon receiving his discharge, he returned to Salt Lake and enrolled in the Ex-cel-cis Beauty College. Steve would go on to have a very long and successful career in the hair business. He owned and operated Trend Hair in Trolley Square and maintained a studio in his home until the time of his passing. The highlight of his career was an appointment with Patricia White. Steve was quick to ask her out and they were married six months later on November 15, 1974. They had four children together and Steve's family meant everything to him. He was a caring husband and devoted father.Steve lived life fully. He had a strong work ethic and was at his best when he was engaged in a project. He had many talents and was generous in sharing his time and abilities to help those around him. Steve was an avid reader and never stopped learning. He greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the cabin he built in Bear Lake, Utah. Many wonderful memories were made there. Steve is survived by his wife, Patricia Thomas, and children: Bret (Sara), Lindsey Larsen (Wyatt), and Brooke Rasmussen (Jared); and four grandchildren. Steve was a very proud grandfather and loved being with his grandkids.Steve is preceded in death by infant son, Bart, his parents, and brother, Brent Thomas.Family and friends will celebrate Steve's life on Thursday, December 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Big Cottonwood Fourth Ward, 5565 Neighbor Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E 7800 S, and also from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will take place at Mountain View Memorial Estates.
