Dorothy Farmer Wright"Nanny"Dorothy Elizabeth Farmer Wright, age 85, passed away December 17, 2011, in Sandy, Utah. Born November 19, 1926 in Birmingham, England to Harry and Gertrude Eliza Evans Tomkiss. Married Albert Frederick Farmer in England. Later married Roy Wright. Mom retired from Utah Power and Light after nearly 20 years of service. She loved shopping for family and friends. Mom remained loyal to her English heritage of fish and chips. She especially enjoyed Fred and Lynn's cabin in Oakley and visits with her grandchildren. Dorothy led a life of service. Her sense of kindness and generosity will be missed by all, along with her British accent. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church. Lest we forget her faithful little dog, Emily. Survived by her children, Merrilyn Victoria Johnson, and Fred (Lynn) Farmer; 8 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren; brother, Harry Tomkiss, and nephew, Jim Hood, in England; cousin, Hazel Hurst, and friend, John Kolman. Preceded in death by parents, both husbands, and 5 siblings.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, 12 noon at the Spring View Ward, 3151 South 900 East, Salt Lake City with a viewing two hours prior. Interment to follow at Elysian Burial Gardens.
