The people who were elected to represent us in government, who have put the United States in debt to foreign countries, should be required to pay off that debt and not expect us and our children to pay the debt.

Those people who put the U.S. in debt are drawing large monthly salaries, and they will receive a large retirement. It seems to me that such dishonesty should put them in prison and all of their holdings confiscated.

Benjamin Franklin said, "Think what you do when you run in debt; you give another power over your liberty." We have lost our liberty and have become slaves to debt.
