Salaries in Salt Lake County may rise only 1.9 percent next year as the area\'s economy slows and unemployment rises, the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce said in its 2012 economic outlook.

I always say, "Keep your words sweet and truthful because you might have to eat them". The Chamber of Commerce has concluded that the area's economic outlook for 2012 will be a slow one, with unemployment rising.

One can only hope that the Chamber will now change its tune and stop pushing for more illegal immigration and the facilitation of more workers from the state of Nuevo Leon in Mexico. In view of its own conclusions, the Chamber needs to reconsider its position of tolerance toward workers that will displace more of our native working forces.
